Official Codes of Conduct for the Astral Dominion League

Cheating

At no time shall any player in any game cheat in an official Astral Dominion battle. Any player found cheating intentionally will be automatically banned for life from The Astral Dominion. This includes exploiting any bugs in the game itself to obtain an unfair advantage over your opponents. An example of this is: Hiding in a building, which you can fire out of, but others cannot fire into, or “Hiding on Plain Sight” in a destroyed Building, such as the Building directly across the Bridge in the Lakefront Map. Violation of this Rule will be considered Cheating, and actions will be taken by the Administrator, if reports are received regarding such use.

Spying

Spying is completely legal within The Astral Dominion, and it is to be expected. However there is a line that must be drawn when saying that. At no time will any player in The Astral Dominion participate in any illegal attempts to "crack" or ‘hack” a server for a Team’s information. At no time will any player participate in "hacking" into The Astral Dominion Web Server, or any other Server associated with The Astral Dominion League. Any player caught or found to be doing this will be banned from The Astral Dominion, as well as any legal actions that can be taken.

Cursing & Offensive Remarks

Remarks of a racial nature will not be tolerated in The Astral Dominion. As far as cursing goes, everyone curses, and the Astral Dominion League Administration realizes that. However it is the context in which the curse is used which often times can cause conflicts or problems. Should any conflict arise in which cursing is involved, the Astral Dominion League Administrator will rule on the context involved and act accordingly. In essence, if you curse in a manner that is not directed at anyone in particular, often times you won’t cause much of a problem.

Gloating

Ok let’s face it, people win, and they like to celebrate their win. However like all things, there is a line that is present that if it is crossed, can often time lead to arguments because one person feels that the winners are gloating over them. If you are the winner in a battle, or a match, just remember that at that particular point in time the losing player’s pride is hurt, and they will sometimes react very harshly to rude comments made by you. A good winner simply says "good game" and exits, and celebrates with his comrades, and not in front of the other player. This is more of a courtesy rule than anything else, though you can get a nasty reputation for gloating.

Whining & Pouting

So you lost, what’s the big deal? Keep in mind that this is only a game, and nothing more. This isn’t real life, and the only thing that’s hurt is your pride. Keep your chin up, and come back next game and put a real whooping down on someone. There’s no need to complain, accuse, whine, and pout. Team Leaders are urged to NOT permit this kind of behavior from their members, and expect that all players act as maturely as possible during Astral Dominion battles.

Cheating Accusations

Should you feel that someone is cheating, you must have proof. You must keep your thoughts and suspicions to yourself. The Astral Dominion League Administration will not tolerate any public accusations of cheating. This sort of thing can ruin the reputation of a player, whether they were guilty or not. You are to follow the procedure for reporting problem players, as stated above, when reporting a cheater.

Cheating claims must have supporting evidence and will always remain confidential. If a claim is made without supporting evidence, or if any pending claims are discussed in public, the Administrator, with the approval of the rest of the Executive Council, may penalize the claimant, and the claimant's Team in a manner to be decided by the Executive Council. In other words, be discrete.

Attitudes & Egos

These simply will not be tolerated in The Astral Dominion League. We are all here to have fun, and people with attitudes and/or egos are just a waste of time. You’ll end up alone in The Astral Dominion League very quickly if you have this type of problem.

Online Attacks & Mail Bombs

This is not only just plain rude, but it is also illegal. The Administration hopes that no player will ever participate in these types of actions. Any player found participating in actions such as these would be removed from the League, so keep that in mind.

What to Expect

The very nature of Combat Operations involves secrecy, and the efforts of the opposing side to uncover those secrets. That said: Expect to be spied upon, and trust no one! Knowledge is power; so all manner of legal spying is to be expected.

As mentioned in the Code of Conduct however, confirmed incidents of hacking and other forms of illegal activities will result in banning from the League, as well as any other actions that are within the powers of the League Administrator to take. Confirmed incidents of Cheating by any manner presently known, and/or unknown, shall result in instant suspension from the League, as well as any other actions that are within the powers of the League Administrator to take, including permanent banning from future League play.

If the Administrator deems the evidence of cheating and/or hacking worthy of consideration, he will bring the matter before the Executive Council (as described below) for consideration. If the Executive Council deems the case worthy of being suspect, it will then decide on any action to be taken against the player and/or his Team. Team Leaders are to ensure that their Players are meeting all League Play requirements
