Trial of PossessionThis Trial is the most common Trial used in the Astral Dominion League. It is used to decide anything from a difference of opinion or claims over a warrior's DNA, to entire Planets. It always begins with a Batchall when it occurs between Clans, and the bidding is often spirited. Combat rarely exceeds Cluster-scale engagements, except in the case of a Planetary Assault. In many Clans, promotions are held as Trials of Possession for the open command post. A recent and unprecedented use of this practice was Khan Vladimir Ward's “Harvest Trials”, in which he challenged or accepted challenges from the Mech Sub-Units of other Clans and, demanded possession of the Sub-Unit if he won. By adding the defeated Sub-Units to his Clan, Khan Ward has rebuilt the Wolf forces so badly mauled in the Falcon-Wolf Refusal War. This Trial will be the form in which all Clan Teams will conduct Planetary Assaults against other Clan Teams. Loss of honor is associated with the loss of a Trial of Possession.
