Rules: Team Requirements

Team Requirements and Membership

Maximum Players

Each Team MUST consist of 1 (ONE) Commander, 1 (ONE) Second-in-Command, and at least 1 (ONE) Third in Command. It is highly advisable to assign one of the players the position of “Recruiting Officer” to promote your Team, and increase its membership. In addition to the 3 players listed above, each Team may have a MAXIMUM of 57 other players, for a maximum Team Roster of 60 Members. The Automation has an interface into which Team leaders must enter in their Player Information. This interface is limited to 60 Names, and ONLY those 60 Players named on that list may participate in any League Battles. If your Roster is empty, then you will be unable to play!

Minimum Players

Each Team MUST maintain a MINIMUM of 10 members (3 Leaders, and 7 additional members). This number will be closely monitored, and strictly enforced, as it is the Minimum number required for League Combat in Planetary Assaults and Raids.

Leaving a Team

Players should strongly consider the implications of joining a Team before signing up. IF, however, a member leaves a Team once League Play has begun, he will not be able to fight for his new Team until he has been added to the Roster of the new Team. This can only be done during the Submission Phase of the next Turn, as the Roster Interface has restricted access during the Combat Phase. This restriction is to alleviate the risk of “Stacking” Teams for specific Battles. The Automation will assist in controlling new Members, as it prevents duplicate entries of email. Players may not be a member of more than one Team in the League at any time, and must be removed from their former Team before they will be able to be added to their new one.

Homepage

As a requirement for League play, each Team must create a Homepage on the Internet showing:

·        Their Team’s presence on the Internet

·        A Roster of that Team

·        An E-Mail contact for that Team’s Leader, and/or Recruiting Officer

Battle Commanders

Each Team must designate a minimum of two (2) players (preferably more), which can be assigned to command a League Battle, as "Battle Commanders". These members will be responsible for attending and managing their Team’s respective battles. This is a thankless, patience testing job, and all Team Leaders and Players should strive to make the BC's Job as painless as possible. Files to assist in the duties of Battle Command are available for download from the Astral Dominion League Download page.

Team Leaders

Each Team must have a Team Leader (as well as several Subordinate Leaders). This position is, by no means, be an easy one, but it is also one of the most important in the League. A Team Leader must be willing to dedicate himself to not only the League, but also to his Team, and the Players under his Command. It is a selfless job, but the rewards in prestige and pride can be enormous. Only the most dedicated individuals should even apply for the position. Make the decision to Command a Team very carefully, and decide whether or not you can meet the demands in time and effort. The success of not only your Team, but also the League is each Team Leader’s responsibility. Failure to carry out the required duties of a Team Leader can often result in severe penalties for a Team. A Team Leaders Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        Strategic Planning for their Team, including all required data entries in the Team Leader’s Automation Interface,

·        Submission of Turn Subs through the Team Leader’s Automation Interface,

·        Organization and arrangement for League Battles,

·        Ensure that all Contact and Team Information is correctly and promptly reported to the League Administrator, as well as any additional responsibilities detailed by the League Administrator and the Rules.

Failure to submit a Turn Submission through the Team Leader’s Automation Interface prior to the cycle of the Turn (without a very substantial reason) will result in a lost turn, and possibly loss of your Team. This is because all Teams in the Astral Dominion League are co-dependant of each other, and what your Team does, or does not do, can have considerable effect upon other Teams in the League. Loss of a Turn will result in a Team losing all incomes for the turn lost. It will be as if the turn had never happened for them.

Failure to Appear for a Planetary Assault Battle, or having Insufficient Pilots present for a Planetary Assault Battle can result in a complete forfeit of the Battle, and all 'Mechs on the forfeiting side being awarded as salvage to the Opponent. In the case of Raids and Recon, a forfeiting defender will not lose ‘Mechs, but will instead be required to award their Opponent 100% success. As is all cases, if the opposing Team Leaders agree, the Battle may be postponed to a later time or date.
