Rules: Clan Honor

Clan Honor

This Rule reflects a Team’s commitment to Clan Honor and is broken into three main spheres of battlefield conventions: Dueling, Physical Attacks, and Retreat. Though there are four levels of Clan Honor, the League Rules will ONLY deal with the Liberal Interpretation of Clan Rules of Engagement. Clan Teams must follow Clan Rules of Engagement when facing another Clan Team, excluding Clan Nova Cat, and Clan Wolf (in Exile). In the case of a Clan Team facing an Inner Sphere Team, they may choose whether or not to use Clan Rules of Engagement. However, using Clan Rules of Engagement against Inner Sphere Teams and/or Clan Nova Cat and Wolf in Exile can often result in large gains in Honor for the Team involved. Dueling Rules and restrictions on physical attacks normally apply only to a Clan Mechwarrior engaging other Clan Mechwarrior. Clan Warriors are not required to use Zellbrigen nor refrain from Physical Attacks when facing Inner Sphere Opponents. Additionally, the Automation will determine whether or not Zellbrigen will be used in Clan vs. Clan Planetary Assaults. There is a 50-50 Chance that any Clan vs. Clan Planetary Assault will be fought using Melee Combat or Zellbrigen Combat.

Definitions of Clan Rules of Engagement

“Clan Rules of Engagement” is a broad term used to cover many of the aspects of Clan warfare and combat. These include such areas as Pre-Battle Batchalls, “Zellbrigen” dueling in Battle, and post Battle considerations such as retreats, and Hegira. The various aspects of Clan Rules of Engagement are detailed in the following chapters.
