Rules: The Clans

The Clans

One of the most common problems in Online Mech Leagues of the past, have been the number of Players that want to play on Clan Teams, if for no other reason, then because they have Clan Tech. Although the advances in recent years have made the “Online” differences between Clan and Inner Sphere Mechs negligible, there are still some players out there that feel that “Clan Tech = Better Tech”. Even though this is actually wrong, it usually leads to a massive influx of new players to the Clan Teams, while Inner Sphere Teams remain hard-pressed to fill their Rosters. This, when combined with the lack of “control” of the actions of Clan Teams, has resulted in Clan Teams being little more than Inner Sphere Warriors with “Really nifty Mechs and equipment”.

No longer will this be the case. In Astral Dominion League, there will be certain restrictions placed on not only the actions of Clan Teams as a whole, but also on their Team members. Codes of Conduct and Rules of Engagement will be followed. Clan Honor has been Included, as part of each Clan’s “Victory Conditions”. In the Clans of the Astral Dominion League, the cliché “Death before Dishonor” will take on a very real meaning, and also have very serious consequences for Teams who do not behave in the appropriate manner.

Several recent events have resulted in the need for not only several Rules Clarifications, but also the addition of some new “Clan Only” Rules. These will be outlined below. First and foremost of the Clan Only Rules:

Clan Capital Worlds are considered to be “Off-Limits” to other Clans, for Planetary Assaults, except under very specific circumstances. Raids and Recons are not included in this Restriction. These circumstances are:

·        A Clan’s Homeworld may be subjected to a Planetary Assault in the event that the Clan in question is currently undergoing a Trial of Annihilation, or Absorption

·        A Clan’s Homeworld may be subjected to a Planetary Assault in the event that the Homeworld is that Team’s last remaining Planet (which, by definition would mean that it is a Trial of Annihilation/Absorption. This does NOT include Clan Blood Spirit, who may only be subjected to a Planetary Assault on York, in a Trial of Annihilation/Absorption.

Inner Sphere Teams are NOT subject to this “Off-Limits” Ruling.
