Rules: Large Scale Battles

Large Scale Battles

There are times, when a large number of Mechs will attack a heavily defended target, and the burden of conducting such a Battle can wear down the patience of even the most pious person to the point of utter frustration. As has been seen in the past with enormous Battles, and due to the enormous Military forces owned by the various Successor States, several Rules have been put into place.

In the event of Battles where more than 250 Mechs are involved on either side, and where the Battle has not been completed (a final Victor has been decided), the Attacking Force will be offered the option of “Tactical Withdrawal. This differs from a normal (Strategic) Withdrawal, in that the Attacking Forces are merely consolidating their strength for a renewed attack. The following rules shall apply for Tactical Withdrawal:

·        The Attacker shall be withdrawn to the Planet from which the Attack(s) originated.

·        Any Salvage from the Engagements already fought (for both sides) will be placed in holding.

·        The Attacking force will, through the Automation, be automatically set to launch another Assault on the Planet in question.

·        Neither side will be permitted to re-enforce nor re-supply the Attacking nor Defending Forces. Only the remaining forces from the previous Turn will participate in the Battle on the following Turn.

·        The Attacker may not launch any other Planetary Assaults on the subsequent Turns; until the Battle is completed (Raids and Recons are not affected)

·        If either side Retreats, All Salvage that was in holding goes to the Victor.
