Weapon Restrictions/Stock Mechs

The Astral Dominion League is a Custom Mech League, with only the minimal amount of Weapons restrictions necessary. The “Hard Point” system used in the Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries Mechlab is self limiting, and prevents much of the “Boating” that occurred in previous Leagues. The minimal Restrictions that ARE in place however are as follows:

Tech Lock: Clan Technology Mech Chassis’ may carry only Clan Technology Weapons and Inner Sphere Technology Mech Chassis’ may carry only Inner Sphere Technology Weapons.  In other words, Technology is “Locked” to Chassis type. This goes a long way towards ensuring the value of each Technology type. Furthermore, it is hoped that it will help offset the vast number advantage that the Inner Sphere Teams have over Clan Teams. The level of Inner Sphere Technology used during the time frame that the Astral Dominion League Campaign is set in, has reduced much of the advantage of Clan Technology already; however this can still be a concern to some League members.

Clan RoEs: Clan Teams may not, at any time use the Long Tom Cannon, Artillery Beacons, Cluster Bombs, nor High Explosives, as it goes against the Clan Rules of Engagement and the concept of what all Clans consider to be honorable Combat.

Raid Restrictions: Artillery Beacons (if available to a Team) may never be used in Raid and Recon Missions, as they are considered “Off-Board” resources, and take too long to properly set up for what is essentially a small-scale, rapid insertion Operation.
